GNU Modeler is a software package conceived for the calculation and generation of animated images representing energy transfer and temperature profiles in models previously defined by the user. The source code of the latest development version 0.14a is available from here. |

Example of input to GNU Modeler The temperature distribution inside an oven filled with a heavy liquid solution is computed: · The oven is cube shape and 1 meter long on each side. · It is assumed that all sides are adiabatic (heat insulated) except one which remains at a constant temperature of 25 ºC. · There is a heat source (electrical resistance) placed in the centre of the oven generating 0.5 kW/m3. The resistance is also cube shape and 50 cm on each side. · The conductivity, density and heat capacity of the solution inside the cube are assumed to be temperature non-dependent: k = 0.2 W/(m K) dens = 2310 kg/m3 Cp = 9.22 J/(kg K) |
